Gregory Helgath, PT

Greg grew up in Lynden and graduated from Lynden High School. Following high school Greg attended the University of Puget Sound and graduated in 1981. Following college Greg moved to Southern California where he was the Co-owner of Pomona Valley Orthopedic and Sports Therapy in Diamond Bar, California for 10 years. He has provided physical therapy for the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Goodwill Games, Portland Storm World Football League Team, the Bellingham Blazers Hockey Team and all local Whatcom county sports teams. In 1990 Greg returned to Lynden to open County Orthopedic and Sports Therapy. He was the 1st board certified clinical specialist North of Everett. Greg also enjoys teaching as he is the clinical instructor for the University of New England, Whatcom Community College and The University of Puget Sound.

Our goal is to get you back on the field, court, course, pool or mat in the fastest and safest way possible. We serve patients of all ages and pride ourselves on being the friendliest and most knowledgeable therapy staff in the county.

 

Isaac Ungersma, PTA

Isaac grew up mostly in Whatcom County, and calls Lynden his hometown. He was homeschooled growing up, and was raised working on dairy farms and in the berry fields. He has always had a love of picking up heavy objects. After getting his Associates at Whatcom Community College, he joined the Navy with the hopes of being a SEAL. During 14 months of intensive training, he sustained multiple injuries and was rolled back into several classes, until finally being medically dropped, and completed his service aboard the USS Nimitz. During the process of recovering from his injuries, he found an interest in Physical Therapy and decided upon getting out that was the field he wanted to pursue. He is happily married to his wife Kelsey and has a beautiful son, Levi.  Isaac started working at COAST June of 2016 and left to complete is PTA degree. He has now rejoined us as our new PTA and we couldn't be more thrilled! 

Colleen Bovenkamp, Practice Manager

Colleen was born and raised in Whatcom County.  She graduated from Ferndale High School and attended Western Washington University for a time.  Colleen has worked in healthcare administration for the last 16 years.    She enjoys volunteering and is currently the PTO president for Blaine Primary School, the den leader for her son's Wolf den which is part of Pack 4026 in Ferndale, as well as helping at a parrot sanctuary as vet assistant.   She currently lives in Birch Bay with her husband, Derrick, and son, David.
